Modifying the stock feed block

If your like me you have one of the old feed blocks the one with the bent copper elbow with the plastic hopper holder on the top . Then you see the feed block on a mag. with its nice brass pipe to put a real hopper elbow on and think where can I get that ? Well just make it, its ez

Old Feed Block

This is what you need sand paper, pipe cutter (or hack saw not shown) drill + bits, a file, 3/4"copper pipe, ruler (not shown) and a screw

Cut the pipe 1 1/2" long

( use a pipe cutter if you have one it makes a nice clean and straight cut unlike a hack saw)

File and sand down both end of the pipe make sure the inside and out  is smooth with no little lips or burrs

Put the pipe in the block then drill a hole through both the feed block and the copper pipe

Put a screw in the hole but make sure it is not sticking out inside the copper pipe you want it nice and flush with the inside

Sand the inside of the pipe to get the burrs out around the hole you drilled and to make sure that the screw is not sticking out

That it you now have a Mag. feed block that you can put a real elbow onto in about 15 min.
